Receiving a facial is a relatively popular skin-care method known to reduce pore size and illuminate skin. Treatments have become so commonplace, however, that many skin-cleansers are available at drug and department stores. Although some over-the-counter solutions can alleviate surface concerns on the skin, they do not penetrate deep enough to promote preventative care, and they do not carry the strength necessary to provide a daily skin-care regimen.
A facial with a licensed and experienced esthetician can improve the balance of your skin and genuinely provide the care it needs to remain clear and smooth. At Destination Aesthetics, we offer a variety of facials that target specific areas of the face and body. We also suggest skin-care regimens based on the unique qualities of your skin that you can adopt and use on a regular basis.
Why Receive a Facial?
With many facial products so readily available, it can be easy to dismiss receiving a professional facial. However, a complete facial will not only cleanse your skin, but also provide information about the way your skin works. A trained esthetician can evaluate your skin type and determine the best products to use on your face. Additionally, a professional can recommend both prescription and over-the-counter remedies that will keep your skin healthy.
Other benefits of facials include:
- Keeps pores small and clean
- Available for all skin types and complexions
- Improves overall health and hydration of skin
- Individualized skin-care based on your specific needs
- Increased circulation in the skin
- Helps maintain a youthful appearance
- Promotes relaxation
- Reduces acne induced by stress
Regardless of how you take care of your skin when you are at home, it does not compare to the treatment you can receive at a medical spa or another professional facility. Certain cleansing methods are used to treat the skin and open the pores — like steam generators and LED lights— that simply cannot be purchased without professional certification, making a clinical facial more effective than at-home treatment.
Facials at Destination Aesthetics
At Destination Aesthetics, we provide five different facials that target specific areas of the face and body. Our facials vary in duration and use certain techniques to prevent skin conditions and rejuvenate your skin’s overall quality. Facials can also be combined with other cosmetic procedures such as fillers, waxing and peels.
- Acne facial
Specifically targeting scars left by acne, this facial uses salicylic acid and LED light therapy to cleanse the skin. Extractions and hydration methods are also used to prevent the onset of acne in the future. This facial can be used for all ages and is combined with suggestions on how to care for pimples at home.
- Back facial
When compared to the face, your back is not as readily seen, but can suffer from some of the same ailments. The back facial uses a deep cleanse and microdermabrasion to purify the skin and keep it feeling hydrated.
- Micropeel facial
Using microdermabrasion treatment, the micropeel facial removes dead skin cells from the face’s surface and allows newer cells to regenerate and create tighter skin. Treatment also includes a chemical peel and extractions.
Is a Facial Right for You?
No two skin types are the same, which is why multiple facials and products are available. During a complimentary consultation at Destination Aesthetics, you can discuss the qualities of your skin as well as the health and cosmetic goals you have. Our qualified esthetician can perform a skin evaluation and determine which cleansing mask is right for you. A specific facial will be recommended based on the specific skin conditions you wish to treat, your time frame and your budget. A skin-care regimen will also be suggested to you once your facial is complete, which works to enhance the effects of the facial.
Many of the skin-care products we suggest are available for purchase or through prescription from our office, and they can help provide long-term care for your skin. Facials are gentle enough on the skin that you can receive them regularly and in combination with other cosmetic treatments that we provide. If you would like more information about the facials we offer or to schedule a consultation, give us a call.
